Nearest Accommodations: Prescott / Camden Location: From Prescott take Hwy 24 going east for about 15 miles. You will come to the junction of Hwy 24 and 368, stay right onto Hwy 24 and go for about 6 more miles. The State Park entrance will be on your left, the trail head is to far east side of the park. From Camden take Hwy 24 heading west for about 14 miles until you get to Chidester. In Chidester turn left onto Hwy 57 for about 4 miles. Turn right onto Hwy 387 for about 4 miles and the State Park entrance will be on your right. Type: Single track / loops Distance: About 10 miles Summary: Mountain bikers should allow 2-3 hours. The trail gets its name from the large variety of ferns that grow along the trail as it meanders through the West Gulf Coastal Plain’s sand hills community. The trail includes eight bridges and 10 interpretive exhibits. We have not had the chance to ride this trail as of yet but I hope to soon, and we can then give a first hand description of the trail. Recommended Route: Will let you know. Rating: From what i have read and heard about this this trail there is no big climbs and really not to technical. One place I read where they rode the trail and did the entire ride in about 1 hour, but we will let you know more after we get down there.
